A Personal Opinion from Medular Sinclair

As a writer, You Are not Entitled to a best seller but be a writer, you might achieve one.

Once upon a time. If you type those on to a doc (whatever you use) you are already a writer. The desire to tell a story, your own or a creative spark inside you equates to you being a writer. The process is difficult.

Nothing good comes without pain, doubt, or a fight.

You are not alone.

Wingerworth Writers Association

We at Wingerworth Writers’ Association are ready and willing to help with whatever you need to progress from Once upon a time till they all live happily ever after.

The email address is hello@wwa-imprint.co.uk

I sent my email expecting a drab mechanical reply but instead I found a human being. Over conversations Ashley told me they were compiling a book of short stories, released as Foreplay. I checked Ashley’s work and sent her something I thought she would enjoy. She did and that story was one of the four.

I thought it was a test. And I passed. However, it was not. There are no gatekeepers. No, you do not need qualifications. All you need to be a member is a desire to write.

There is no cost to membership, no standards set. Nothing at all.

There is not even a hierarchical structure to the organisation. The two founders knew each other for years, from childhood, but neither take any form of leadership role. No member has priority over any other.

What Type of Writer are You?

If you want to write blog posts, short stories or, like me, author novels that is fine. No one will write for you, but all will offer advice and answer questions. As I get a little blocked on my novel, it helps me to keep the flow by writing the odd blog post.

Nigel tasked me to write this one.

We are all Writers.

Writers by nature are solitary people, and connections between members is solely for individual members to build.

No pressure. No judgment. No cost. I have to say WWA is a fine association to join. And now with the new imprint, the marketing should be a little easier for everyone.

We shall all live happily ever after.
