The dictionary defines flash fiction as short fiction no more than 1000 words but can be as short of a paragraph.
When I first learned of flash fiction I thought it would never be my forte. Even my short stories tend to be over wording parameters to call short stories.
You never know till you try. My first flash story came from an image. Getting older is getting closer to death. In a text I stated that the grim reaper was waving at me. It gave me an idea.

I have found writing flash fiction fun and a challenge. Being able to paint an image in few words, indicating character in just a few short sentences and progressing the plot is exhilarating. As I publish I will add more. to this page.
Any new writers that approach me for advice I would just suggest they write. Now I suggest they start small. A little flash fiction is good for discipline, and motivates a writer to be concise with their characters and descriptions.
