In the tumultuous backdrop of 1970s Britain, Teddy and Judy find themselves caught in the web of societal upheavals and personal struggles. As inflation fuelled by the oil price shock takes its toll, Teddy faces the looming threat of professional failure. His hopes hinge on a football pools win, a desperate bid to escape the clutches of an uncertain future.
Amid the challenges, Teddy finds solace in the fleeting smiles and chats with Marcia, a married woman who frequents the same pub on Saturday nights. Little does he know that Judy, his wife of many years, has been entangled in a decade-long affair with Vance, a secret rendezvous that provides her a fleeting escape from her monotonous life.
One Saturday night, a seemingly innocent kiss from Marcia sends Teddy home in high spirits, unaware of the storm brewing within his own household. The tension between Teddy and Judy escalates, fuelled by irritation and resentment. As emotions reach a boiling point, a shocking revelation emerges, leading to a fateful turn of events that culminate in a double murder.
“Duplicity” delves into the complexities of marriage, infidelity, and the choices we make in the face of adversity. In this gripping tale set against a backdrop of economic turmoil, the characters navigate a treacherous path, where secrets unravel, and the consequences of deception become tragically irreversible.
